The perfect Labor Day weekend might be just staying home at Teravista and enjoying golf, backyard cookouts and one of the final weekends to swim and splash at Wildlower Park, The Residents’ Club and The Retreat.
If you’re in the mood for getting out, here are a few ideas for enjoying the long weekend close to home.
Start the long weekend early with the final Music on the Square concert on Courthouse Square in Georgetown. Franklin’s Tower will be playing upbeat bluegrass music on Friday, Aug. 29, 6:30-8:30.
Take the kids to see the classic 1989 version of Batman, and be a hero for Superhero Kids, supporting kids battling cancers and blood disorders at Dell Children’s Hospital. It’s Sunday, Aug. 31, 730 p.m. at Flix Bewhouse. Tickets are $7, with 50% going to Superhero Kids.
Escape for some free relaxing yoga. The Yoga Room in Round Rock is participating in Austin’s annual citywide Free Day of Yoga on Sept. 1. Classes are available all day, from challenging to relaxing. Check the schedule and Zen out – for free.
It’s still hot, ya’ll, so beat the heat with a day at Austin’s coolest new attraction, Hawaiian Falls in nearby Pflugerville. In addition to the refreshing Water Park, the action-packed Adventure Park is now open with activities like a Zip Line Canopy Tour, the Ropes Course and Family Adventure Trail. It’s open Labor Day weekend from 10:30 to 7 daily.
