Make Golf a Family Affair with Teravista’s
Monday, August 18, 2014
On the final weekend before school starts, celebrate the end of summer and make new family memories with the annual Nine Hole Parent/Junior Back to School Golf Tournament at the Teravista Golf Club.
The cost is only $49 per two-person team for a priceless day of fun, food and fitness on Sunday, August 24. Featuring the two-person scramble format, the tournament begins with registration at 1 p.m., followed by the shotgun start at 2 p.m.
The tournament wraps up at 4:30 p.m. with an awards presentation and giveaways. There’ll also be a burger bar, complete with all the fixings plus homemade chips, potato salad, ice cream sundaes and beverages. The fun includes live music, with a popular band sponsored by Teravista by Newland Communities.
It will be a great way to introduce kids to the many benefits of golf, which have been described by Swedish golf champ Annika Sorenstam. "Golf teaches you a lot about life," she said. "Like any other sport it teaches you muscle control, and if you walk a golf course it's about five miles, so that's good exercise. But it also teaches you about patience, being focused, determination, and how to listen to instructions."
To reserve your spot at the tournament, call Jessica Pipkin at 512-651-9850, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
