Restaurant Review: Jack Allen’s Kitchen serves Texas comfort food

As a local REALTOR® and a Teravista resident, I’ve come to frequent many local restaurants, and one of my personal favorites is Jack Allen’s Kitchen, or JAK for short.
Opened in 2012, our local JAK has a menu that’s virtually the same to the original JAK in Oak Hill, which has been around since 2009. The Southern-inspired, "Texas-centric" comfort foods range from grill items to tacos and sandwiches, plus daily specials. If you’re craving Tex-Mex, one of my favorite seasonal dishes is the Cast Iron Layered Chicken Enchilada. There is also a great selection of wines, beer and cocktails
Prices range from about $15 to $30 for a meal. Sunday Brunch, $15.99 a person, offers dishes such as Green Chile Pork and Eggs and Fresh Tomato Basil Pie.
The ambiance is pleasant and relaxed, and with the friendly staff, you may find yourself wanting to stay just a little bit longer.
Jack Allen’s Kitchen Round Rock has excellent reviews and the majority of guests can't praise the restaurant enough. Most emphasize the food, noting that it is always fresh and tasty, while many also say they like the fact that the ingredients are largely locally sourced. There are also virtually no complaints about their customer service. There are a very small number of comments related to long waiting times for a table, so be sure to call for a reservation.
2500 Hoppe Trail in Round Rock. JAK is a little over three miles from Teravista, just west of Interstate 35 at the intersection with the Old Settler's Boulevard.

Open 11-10 Monday through Thursday, and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday hours are 10-10.
