GISD bond election includes new middle school for Teravista – Vote on Nov. 3
Thursday, October 29, 2015
Georgetown-area residents: Make sure you get to the poll on November 3! The bond package up for voter approval includes a new $27 million middle school that is expected to open in Fall 2017 and would serve Teravista students.
The new middle school would be constructed adjacent to GISD’s existing Mitchell Elementary School campus, near the intersection of SH 130 and Highway 29.
For FAQs and other information on the bond election, please visit GISD’s special Bond 2015 webpage. It has several brief videos in which GISD Superintendent Dr. Fred Brent explains the new construction and renovation projects that are included in the bond package. Tax information is also provided.
In the video focusing on new construction, Dr. Brent explains how the new middle school campus serving Teravista will provide a variety of learning environments designed for the 21st century, with customization and innovation at all levels.
The new middle school would be an excellent addition to GISD’s George Washington Carver Elementary School in Teravista, opened this past August. Please vote “Yes” in this important bond issue to make sure that the district can continue to provide its students with the very best education possible.
